Position Overview: Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, develops and coordinates Human Resources activities such as employment, compensation, employee relations, benefits, training, and employee services by performing duties personally or through subordinates. Responsible for promoting the philosophy, mission, and goals of the Sisters of Saint Francis, and managing Human Resources functions in compliance with local, federal, and state laws, along with organization policies.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
People: The Human Resources Director assists department directors and managers with job description creation and updates, employee recruiting, pay ranges, and disciplinary actions (counseling to terminations). The HR Director also manages the worker’s compensation insurance and claims, the unemployment claims for the Mount St. Francis ministries and other legal and compliance issues. The HR Director supervises two employees in the Human Resources Department and presents human resources and benefits information at new employee orientations.
Quality: The HR Director coordinates and negotiates the annual employee benefits package with the broker, consults legal counsel to ensure policies and decisions comply with federal and state law, oversees the campus payroll functions to ensure all associates are paid according to Department of Labor requirements, and recommends or conducts investigations of possible misconduct, as necessary.
Operational Excellence: The HR Director manages the employee benefit programs, including health and dental plans, life insurance, and short-term and long-term disability insurance. The HR Director develops and maintains a human resources system that meets top management’s information needs, prepares and adheres to annual budgets, and conducts salary surveys to establish internal wage scales.
Schedule: Typically 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
