Position Overview: Under the direction of Nursing Center management, the LPN is responsible for providing prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to residents in the Nursing Center. Typical responsibilities include administering medications, keeping accurate records, taking vitals, dressing wounds, collecting samples for analysis, assessing residents and responding to their changes/needs, updating care plans, and assisting residents with basic needs and comfort. Nurse shall provide direct nursing care according to all organizational policies and procedures.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
People: The LPN will work as a member of our team ensuring the timely and appropriate care of residents. He/she will communicate effectively with co-workers and Nurse Manager and will be attentive and sensitive to the needs of the residents, help to establish and maintain an atmosphere conducive to rest, quiet, and peaceful living, and provide a safe and clutter-free environment. LPN will demonstrate empathy and compassion in daily interactions with residents, and supervise assigned CNAs.
Quality: The LPN must adhere to all safety and procedural requirements in order to provide quality care. He/she must follow the documented care plan, accurately transcribe physician orders, and record all resident care.
Operational Excellence: The LPN will participate in care planning, admissions and discharge processes, and orientation of new staff. He/she will attend in-service training and seminars, and perform all work with high ethical and performance standards.
Must have current LPN license and CPR certification
AN or BSN is required
Must be at least 18 years of age
Minimum of two years of experience in long term care preferred
Ability to stand and walk frequently
Experience with dementia is a plus
Schedule: Schedule is approximately 20 hours per week. Shift is 6 am – 2:30 pm, including every other weekend and some holidays.
Shift Differential Pay: $2.00/hour weekend day
