Job Information

Position Overview:  The cook performs all cooking responsibilities for residents, Sisters, and the Guest Dining Room so that prepared food can be served in accordance with established schedules, under the direction of the Culinary Services Director.  He/she is responsible for all aspects of hot food preparation as well as baked items for all entities on campus.

Key Duties & Responsibilities: 

People: The Cook will participate as a member of our team, helping to meet all schedules and deadlines, and will communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and internal customers, promoting a positive and successful operation.

Quality: The Cook assures the timely, efficient, and proper preparation of food items, using Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards. The Cook completes required documentation, coordinates the timing of food preparation to meet indicated deadlines, documents refrigeration temperatures, assures cleaning tasks are completed daily, and performs all tasks using sanitary equipment to ensure the safety of all food items served.

Operational Excellence: The Cook prepares food according to established menus and standardized recipes in amounts indicated, using HACCP guidelines, and assures items are the correct temperatures before serving. The Cook delivers and retrieves food items from the Sisters’ Dining Room, refrigerates leftover food quickly, labels, covers, and correctly stores all unused food items, follows all quality and safety standards, and fulfills the dietary requisitions for the Nursing Center Nutrition Services Department.  

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Cook in a commercial setting
  • Must be service minded
  • Ability to organize time, priorities and schedules with adherence to deadlines
  • Strong work ethic
  • Able to grasp, lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs as needed
  • Has finger/hand dexterity to operate kitchen machinery, knives, etc.
  • Able to withstand changes in temperature, occasional smoke, steam

Schedule:  32- 40 hours per week – Depending on the work load, we will strive for 2 consecutive days off weekly.

Title CNA QMAP – PRN

Position Overview:   The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) assists the professional staff by supporting each sister’s highest functional capacity.   The CNA provides a pleasant, neat, peaceful, and comfortable environment for the sisters who reside at the Sisters Care Unit under the direction of the nursing and medical staff.

Key Duties & Responsibilities 

People: Keeps the sister’s living area and work areas tidy, transfers sisters from one surface to another utilizing good body mechanics and safety practices for both, accurately measures and records vital signs, implements rehabilitative procedures such as range of motion, ambulation, and positioning, administers medications per standards of practice.

Quality: Follows the direction provided by each sister’s individual care plan, encouraging self-care whenever possible, assists sisters to be in the right place at the right time, such as meals, activities, church services and appointments, implements procedures for care of sisters’ personal property, reports observations of changes in sisters’ health status to the Charge Nurse promptly and completes a note in their respective charts, encourages socialization and participation in various activities, provides opportunities for sisters to spend time outdoors.

Operational Excellence:  Participates in planning of care for sisters, assists sisters with ADLs, uses supplies and equipment with economy and proper care, assists in the admission and discharge procedures of sisters, and provides after death care in accordance with policies.

Qualifications: Must have and maintain a C.N.A. license in good standing from the State of Colorado,  must have at least 1 year of CNA experience, QMAP responsibility at hire or willing to become QMAP certified within agreed upon timeframe,  computer experience with Word and Excel is a plus.

Schedule:  PRN position – Approximately 15 hours per month plus additional hours to fill in for other staff members as needed.  Shifts range from 4 hours to 12 hours per day.
