Position Overview: Under the direction of the Nutrition Supervisor, the Nutrition Aide is responsible for the set-up, service of meals, and clean-up of dining area for the residents, to include sanitation of the area as assigned and according to all organizational policies and procedures.  Prepare dining room, set and buss tables, clean salt and pepper shakers, assure food is hot and plates are attractively assembled, prepare sandwiches, soups, and beverages in the galley, and apportion food servings in accordance with dietary lists. Collect dishes, trays, and trash, clean and disinfect work areas, tables, and cabinets.  Prepare room trays, as needed, and assure snacks are available and galley cabinets are appropriately stocked.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

People: The Nutrition Aide will work as a member of our team ensuring the timely and appropriate dietary service to residents.  He/she will communicate effectively with residents, co-workers, and management. The Nutrition Aide will create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the department and will be courteous and polite to all residents, family, and other staff.

Quality: The Nutrition Aide must adhere to all safety and procedural requirements in order to provide quality care.  He/she must follow the established sanitation procedures, follow the dress code, and report all unsafe/hazardous conditions and defective equipment or utensils immediately.

Operational Excellence:  The Nutrition Aide will attend in-service training and seminars and perform all work with high ethical and performance standards.  The Nutrition Aide will be dependable and reliable in attendance.


    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • Ability to multi-task, be mature, responsible, and a team player.
    • Ability to stand and walk frequently
    • Ability to regularly lift/move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift/move up to 50  pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds.
    • 2 years experience working with senior population, along with experience working in healthcare food service is preferred.

Schedule:  Average 37.5 hours per week, 5 days per week including some weekends, working 6 am – 2 pm.
