Position Overview: The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for direct care of nursing center residents/patients.  Typical  responsibilities include answering call lights, bells, or intercoms to determine resident needs, bathing, dressing and undressing residents, serving food, transporting residents, assisting residents to walk, changing bed linens, taking and recording temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration, and providing direct nursing care according to all organizational policies and procedures.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

People: The CNA will work as a member of our team ensuring the timely, compassionate, and appropriate care of residents.  He/she will communicate effectively with co-workers and the Nurse in Charge.

Quality: The CNA must adhere to all safety and procedural requirements in order to provide quality care.  He/she must follow the documented care plan, perform correct transfers of residents, understand and follow correct equipment operations and activities, provide ROM/positioning and ambulation of residents, and assist in providing the least restrictive environment for residents. Must maintain a Colorado CNA license.

Operational Excellence:  The CNA will participate in care planning, admissions and discharge processes, and orientation of new CNAs. The CNA will be dependable and reliable in attendance.   

Qualifications:

    • Must have current CNA license
    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • Experience in long term care as a CNA is preferred
    • Experience with dementia is a plus

Schedule:  Full-time averages 32 – 37.5 hours per week.   Part-time averages 10 – 20 hours per week. Shifts are days (6 AM – 2 PM), evenings (2 PM – 10 PM), nights (10 PM – 6 AM) including some weekends.

Title RN NURSE MANAGER

We are a 5-Star Nursing Center located on the beautiful grounds of Mount St Francis in NW Colorado Springs, looking for a reliable and compassionate nurse manager to join our team.

Position Overview: Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Clinical Nurse Manager implements nursing care procedures, regulatory guidelines, and nurse practice protocols through education, communication and assessment of individual patient needs.  The Clinical Nurse Manager performs supervisory responsibilities, to include planning, assigning, directing, and monitoring work of assigned staff.

People: The Clinical Nurse Manager will work as a member of our team ensuring the timely and appropriate care of residents.  He/she will communicate effectively and will be attentive and sensitive to the needs of the residents, help to establish and maintain an atmosphere conducive to rest, quiet, and peaceful living, and provide a safe and clutter-free environment.  Demonstrate empathy and compassion in daily interactions with residents.  Effectively supervise assigned staff by training, assigning work, evaluating performance, rewarding and disciplining staff, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Quality: The Clinical Nurse Manager will monitor recommendations of QI committees for compliance, work as a liaison with nursing management, consult with the DON on nursing problems and interpretation of regulatory guidelines, policies and procedures, implement policies and procedures approved by the DON and Executive Director of Health Services, oversee the infection control program, and adhere to all safety and procedural requirements in order to provide quality care.

Operational Excellence:  The Clinical Nurse Manager assures compliance of all standards in the unit, works closely with other departments to meet the needs of the residents, participates in on-call staffing rotation, monitors 24 hour report daily for clinical issues, assures Coumadin, blood sugar, and insulin tracking is complete and accurate, and audits new admission orders and assessments.  

Qualifications:

    • AN or BSN is required
    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • Five years experience in long term care nursing
    • Must have current RN license in good standing and CPR certification
    • Experience with dementia is a plus

Schedule:  Full time position including on-call rotation every 5th weekend.

    • Minimum of two years experience in long term care preferred
    • Ability to stand and walk frequently
    • Experience with dementia is a plus

Schedule:  Full-time is 32 – 40 hours per week; Part-time averages 10 – 20 hours per week. Shifts are days (6 am – 2:30 pm), evenings (2:00 pm – 10:30 pm), and nights (10:00 pm – 6:30 am), including every other weekend and some holidays.

Position Overview: Under the direction of the Activities Director, assists in conducting life enhancement activities in the nursing center.

Key Duties & Responsibilities: The Activities Assistant prepares for and leads therapeutic activities for residents, assists in transporting residents, coordinates volunteers, and maintains records.

People:  The Activities Assistant demonstrates the Mount St. Francis ministries’ mission and values in dealing with residents, family members, and other staff, effectively leads resident activities, and transports residents to and from activities, to include driving the activities bus.

Quality:  Assistant supports quality in the Activities Department by preparation of activities areas for scheduled events, keeping attendance records, and monitoring volunteers.

Operational Excellence:  Monitors activities/events to ensure a therapeutic environment and provides necessary assistance to residents.

Qualifications: Must be able to perform each essential duty of the job, have a high school diploma or GED, have one to three months related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires a valid Colorado driver’s license.

Schedule: Approximately 22.5 hours per week. 9 am to 5 pm Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Position Overview:   Under the direction of the Housekeeping Supervisor, the Housekeeper cleans nursing center resident rooms, baths, offices, halls, common areas, etc.

 Key Duties & Responsibilities

 People:  The Housekeeper performs the day to day housekeeping functions as assigned and specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments, cleans floors, rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, empties trash, cleans bathrooms and tub/shower rooms, dusts, strips beds and makes up beds as required, and distributes laundered articles and linens.

Quality: Obtains equipment and supplies necessary to accomplish the cleaning tasks assigned, moves chairs and tables as required, replaces supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, soap, hand towels, etc.

Operational Excellence:  Housekeeper assures that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manner, and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc. are  properly stored at all times. Cleans lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways.

Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Schedule:  Approximately 37.5 hours per week, day-shift, schedule varies.
