“Engaging Aging”

As maturing adult women, Jesus has promised us, “I have come that you might have life and have it in abundance.” (John 10:10)  How do we go about cherishing all the possibilities that lie before us?  During our retreat, we will explore what it means to be an advocate for ourselves in a culture which tends to prize youthfulness and devalue aging.  As we sharpen our purpose for our later years, we formulate a vision of all that the future holds.  We value what we have received from others, and we plan how we might pass on to the next generation the wisdom and grace God has given us. Discussion, reflection, group sharing, and prayer will enrich our gathering as we rejoice in what has been and in what is yet to come.

Leader, Emma Lee has earned an MS in Counseling Psychology and a Marriage and Family Therapist Licensed. She has served as a counselor at Catholic Schools while she also conducted a private therapy practice.   She has been a Spiritual Director for 28 years and she was a team member for the spiritually program presented by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.    She has presented many workshops and retreats.

$45.00 [includes lunch]  Limited scholarships available upon request.  Limited overnight accommodations available at the Franciscan Retreat Center for an additional fee.  Phone them at 719-955-7025 and tell them you are with the Woman’s Story Retreat.  Payment is made directly to the FRC separately from your registration fee. For your comfort consider bringing your own pillow and dress in layers.
